“The natural healing force within each of us is the greatest force in getting well.”
― Hippocrates
When human beings experience trauma, their mental and physical health suffer. Unaware or unable to get the right help and support, they carry this trauma for months, years, decades. The wound becomes deeper, more severe. To survive, they might unintentionally resort to using whatever coping mechanisms available to them, regardless the consequences. Addictions, dissociations, destructive behaviour, self-sabotage, low self-worth. These are all harmful patterns which can cause relationships to break down and life to unravel.
My great passion is to provide the right help and support to those who need it. To raise awareness that help is available, and that asking for help is not a weakness. That we can heal ourselves, but we can’t heal ourselves alone. I know this because I’ve been there; wounded, injured, trying to cope with trauma. Feeling scared, lost and alone.
This is why I am committed to helping all my clients to shift their perceptions so they can know themselves as complete, whole, balanced, and safe.

Education
From the age of 12, I have left Indonesia to pursue my education in Singapore, the UK, Italy and France.
My academic background includes a Doctor in Behavioural Psychology from Nottingham Trent University. My work has been published in peer-reviewed journals as well as book chapters (a list of which can be found here-link). I gained my B.Sc. of Applied Psychology from Cardiff University in the UK, having spent one year in the University of Padua in Italy in a research exchange program.
I am a certified hypnotherapist with Holistic Healing Hypnosis, and I am working on a diploma in Counselling and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from the Institute of Counselling. Having a very strong student archetype, I am certain that this section will get longer in time!
Work
I have an extensive background in health promotion and disease prevention, having worked in Public Health for the NHS and a number of local government agencies in the UK. My work was focused on engagement and advocacy, working within the areas of Domestic Violence, Maternal Health, and Smoking & Alcohol Cessation. I specialised in Public Health intelligence and data analytics, managing the analytics team at the Royal Free London NHS Trust.
I now practice hypnotherapy and Shadow Work therapy online, as well as in-person at Maja Healing. I am also a co-Director of Digital Alchemy; a small, boutique digital agency based in London and Bali where I lead on the research, data analytics and visualisation projects.
Personal
I lived and worked in the UK for 23 years before moving back to Bali in 2017. Trying to settle down in Bali meant that I’ve had to get over some very British habits that I’d picked up – queuing for no reason (most Indonesians don’t recognise this concept!), and arriving for appointments early (ditto).
I’m a proud mum to a wonderfully weird 9 year old daughter, who beats me at video games. I’m an out-and-proud nerd who uses Excel in anything I possibly can, even in my dreams.
In my spare time, you will find me challenging and balancing my own shadow parts (which, at one point, included running around the Maja Office, in a Gangnam-style gallop…), planning my next elaborate prank on my husband (the last one involved a cat and an umbrella!), or hunting dragons with my daughter.

My approach
I use a blended-therapies system; including hypnotherapy, counselling, talk therapy, shadow work, and archetypes therapy, creating a personalised and tailored approach for each client’s personal needs and goals.
My goal is to help clients resolve their issues in as few sessions as possible. For most non-complex cases, one or two hypnotherapy sessions would be sufficient to help them. For more complex cases, I also provide 3-session packages at a lower rate.
In order to make these sessions more accessible to everyone; if you or anyone you know need help and support but are not able to afford one, I set aside one free session per month through Maja Care. Please get in touch if you would like to be included in the wait list (currently 3 months).
